INF: Data management

PIs: Justus Notholt

The measurements and model studies conducted within (AC)³ will create an enormous of amount of data, having different formats and geophysical units. The data include measured in–situ and remote sensing data, radiances and model results for specific spatial and temporal scales. All these data have to be combined and made comparable, which is one part of this project. This will be done using a statistical approach, considering the existing validation from the different techniques. Furthermore, the data need to be stored on a database, with high international reputation, where specified data can be downloaded and cited. We decided to use the Publishing Network for Geoscientific & Environmental Data (PANGAEA, http://www.pangaea.de), that is hosted by the Alfred–Wegener-Institut, Helmholtz–Zentrum für Polar– und Meeresforschung (AWI).
